Dubai ruler promises ‘best Expo’ in 168-year history

    Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inspects ongoing infrastructure works at Expo 2020 Dubai site. Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Tuesday inspected infrastructure works at the Expo 2020 site and promised the emirate would hold the best Expo in its 168-year history.

    The visit of Sheikh Mohammed, also the UAE Prime Minister and Vice President, alongside Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan, marked the 450-day countdown to the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai. On Twitter, he said: “We are ready and remain true to our promise of presenting the best Expo edition in its 168-year-old history.”

    Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and director-general of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau about the progress of the projects. He expressed his satisfaction at the progress of the projects, and praised the efforts of the expo’s working team led by Al Hashemy, urging all national authorities to intensify their efforts to make the expo succeed.
