Hermes Reopens Expanded Store

The brand has reopened its expanded boutique at the Galleria department store in Seoul’s Apgujeong Rodeo area, a luxury shopping hub in the Gangnam district.

Designed by Paris-based architecture agency RDAI, the storefront is wrapped in oxidised metal stripes that reinterpret Korea’s traditional Dancheong decorative painting, creating what the French luxury house describes as a ‘playful dialogue between heritage and modernity’.

Inside, guests are welcomed by the house’s emblematic ex-libris set into the signature terrazzo Faubourg pattern. The store layout highlights different categories, with silk at the centre, men’s shoes and ready-to-wear to the right and home and equestrian collections toward the rear.

Leather goods, jewellery and watches are presented in more intimate areas, while women’s ready-to-wear and shoes are displayed against pastel blue terrazzo and silk partitions.

The interior also features local bespoke craftsmanship, such as pleated paper lighting by Jungmo Kwon, alongside works from the Emile Hermes collection and contemporary photography.

“As the store relocates, the two window scenes also take the viewer on a poetic narrative that transforms daily life details into evocative reflections on collective imagination,” the company said. “We invite loyal customers and new visitors to explore its timeless creations in this joyful atmosphere that reflects Seoul’s unique culture and the house’s craftsmanship.”
