The French fashion brand is committed to giving its products a second life in Spain and Portugal. In collaboration with the Spanish platform Micolet, Kiabi has launched its second-hand model on the Iberian market.
Called “Beebs by Kiabi”, the project combines a digital platform and a physical presence and is already fully operational in its home country, France. This launch is part of the expansion plan of the eponymous brand specialising in second-hand children’s fashion, acquired by the French chain in 2024.
Initially, the model will be implemented in the physical channel through a pilot phase established in selected stores and, in the coming months, it will arrive on the brand’s digital platform.
With this initiative, the French company reaffirms its commitment to circular and responsible fashion, as part of its Vision 2035 growth strategy. Kiabi’s General Manager in Spain and Portugal, José Luis Carceller, explains: “Incorporating second-hand into our business model reinforces our commitment to a more sustainable model that is adapted to the real needs of families. This alliance with Micolet allows us to offer responsible, affordable and innovative options from a specialised and reliable partner.”
Founded in 1978, the French chain belonging to the Mulliez group operates a total of 72 points of sale in Spain, its second largest market and 13 stores in Portugal. According to its latest figures, Kiabi recorded a 3.46 per cent increase in turnover in Spain, reaching 209 million euros. Internationally, the company is present in 33 markets around the world through a network of more than 640 points of sale.
