This September, the London village of Barnes will welcome The Watermans Arms – a new pub and restaurant overlooking an idyllic stretch of the River Thames, destined to become a neighbourhood gem with city-wide appeal for food and drink lovers.
The new home of Head Chef, Sam Andrews, and his team (previously heading up the kitchen at the beloved Camberwell Arms and Soho’s famous Ducksoup), The Watermans Arms will see them head West and create a menu of unfussy yet well-loved food alongside a carefully curated drinks list in a truly unique setting.
Downstairs will offer a simple bar menu of dishes such as lamb rib, yoghurt & honey and small ‘Toasts’ such as, sourdough charred over the coals finished with rouille and mussels. Downstairs and upstairs, the light-filled pub and restaurant space will offer a full A La Carte menu featuring seasonal dishes such as Cannelloni, pumpkin & radicchio; hake, mussel, tomato & bread stew; Spit Roast chicken with chicken fat polenta and rainbow trout with cicoria & preserved lemon as well as rotating specials board featuring whole market fish cooked over coals, sharing chops and steaks from the in-house, whole-animal butchery.
The Watermans Arms will also offer a special Sunday menu focused on sharing as well as a ‘Set Lunch’ menu on Fridays with two courses at £21 or three courses for £26. Created around the seasons, carefully sourced from the best suppliers available to London, guests can expect bold and thoughtful food that is perfect for sharing in the incredible setting.
