The first phase of Patio del Centro opened its doors to guests earlier this week and the new shopping complex is located in the centre of the Argentine city of Mendoza.
Located on the traditional site of the former Maristas School, on San Martín Street, it will combine shops, services, restaurants and cultural spaces. The project is being promoted by Corrientes Palace SA, a Córdoba-based development firm with a track record in similar projects, such as Patio Olmos and Paseo del Jockey.
With this experience, the company decided to replicate its model of multifunctional urban centres in Mendoza, opting for a strategic location in the heart of the city’s downtown. Once completed, the shopping centre will have more than 170 stores spread over four levels. The opening of this first phase will include 16 new businesses, adding to the six already active on the same block.
Subsequent stages will include additional offerings, such as a movie theatre, a food court, an outpatient medical centre and a children’s entertainment area. In total, the development will cover more than 60,000sq m.
Patio del Centro’s proposal presents a high-end commercial profile. According to sources close to the project, national and international brands have already been confirmed, positioning the complex as a new benchmark for premium consumption in Cuyo. The intention is to offer a shopping experience similar to that found today in the country’s main shopping malls.
