Merry Hill Adds to Line-Up

Continuing to strengthen its position as one of the UK’s top regional centres, Merry Hill has added further variety to its brand mix with 30,000sq ft of leasing completed across 11 operators.

The significant investment from landlord and brand alike underscores Merry Hill’s appeal as a West Midlands hub for a diverse range of brands, with the centre now being 95 per cent let.

Located throughout the lower level of its Southern Mall, the host of brands investing in Merry Hill includes the relaunch of a 10,000sq ft space from discount store, Hey Bargain, as well as the relocation of affordable health and beauty retailer, Savers, into a 5,000sq ft unit and Greggs upsizing into a 2,000sq ft unit. The brands join a series of renewals nearby, including Shoe Zone, Bodycare, Bonmarché, Global Mobile, Card Factory, Subway and MyPhone, comprising a total of 15,000sq ft of floorspace in the mall.

The mass brand commitment to Merry Hill adds even further diversity to its tenant blend, with the super-regional centre hosting a highly differentiated critical mass of retailers, encompassing affordable, to premium and luxury brands such as Nike Unite, Goldsmiths, TAG Heuer and Rolex.

Nick Round, Senior Asset Manager at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, on behalf of Merry Hill, commented: “Merry Hill’s strength lies in its ability to offer a broad and complete retail experience, seamlessly blending lower price point brands with more premium offers. The recent flurry of brand investment across the destination exemplifies this balance, showcasing our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our extensive community and reinforcing our position as a leading super-regional retail destination in the UK.”
