Today, The Mercers’ Company has announced that leading asset management consultancy, MJ Hudson, has signed for their latest London office at 1-3 Frederick’s Place, in the heart of the City, within The Mercers’ Estate.
Situated on Old Jewry, between Gresham Street and Cheapside, Fredericks Place is less than a minutes’ walk from Bank station, and around the corner from The Ned. Forming one of two Grade II listed buildings within the cul-de-sac, MJ Hudson will take the entire building of five floors, spanning over 17,000 sq ft. The asset management consultancy is due to take full occupancy of the unit in Q1 2020.
Designed by John Robertson Architects the extensively refurbished office space comprises high ceilings, brilliant natural light and rooftop terraces. The Grade II listed building also showcases classic wooden floors and period features, including original fireplaces and plasterwork, providing an office space unique in character.
Delivering a full range of specialist services to the traditional and alternative asset management industries, MJ Hudson advises clients in the fields of law, investment consulting, international administration, fund management infrastructure and IR and marketing.
Matthew Hudson, CEO of MJ Hudson commented: “The asset management industry is experiencing both flux and opportunity, and London is, and should remain, its preeminent global location. Being British by birth, we are committed to growing in London as our core location, and to find a real estate partner in The Mercers’ Company, that represents 700 years of London trading history, reflects our wish to build a City institution of today’s relevance and also with longevity. In addition, Mercers’ commitment to funding young people and education reflects our own values of investing in and training young local talent, with 5% total new staff at MJ Hudson being recruited at graduate and pre-graduate levels, each year.”
Simon Taylor, Property Director at The Mercers’ Company added: “As a recognised asset management consultancy, MJ Hudson’s impressive leadership and expertise across Europe make for a brilliant tenant in the City. This high-profile signing is a testament to The Mercers’ Company’s investment and our commitment to regenerating Frederick’s Place; creating a corporate hub in the heart of London.”
The signing follows the recent news that internationally-renowned dance shoe brand from New York, LaDuca, has signed for their first UK site at 37 Drury Lane, Covent Garden, due to open in September.
Knight Frank and Ingleby Trice acted on behalf of The Mercers’ Company and Compass Real Estate represented MJ Hudson.
