The historic site where Bencivenga, one of the most representative urban transport companies in Posadas, operated, is being converted into an open-air commercial promenade that will seek to become a new hub for shopping, gastronomy and recreation for the capital of Misiones.
Located at the intersection of López y Planes Avenue 2989 and Lavalle Avenue, the development will be named Paseo Bencivenga and is being developed by the founding family of the transportation company.
Beyond the real estate aspect, the project has a strong symbolic component for its promoters. The initiative was conceived as part of the family legacy intended for Nabila Bencivenga, granddaughter of the founder Antonio Bencivenga and the inauguration is scheduled for December 2026, coinciding with the young woman’s 18th birthday.
According to the business news site IProfesional, the complex will occupy a lot 13 metres wide and 86 metres deep. The design departs from the traditional enclosed shopping arcade model and is organised around a central pedestrian walkway five metres wide. Retail spaces will be distributed along both sides, surrounded by greenery, rest areas and an ambiance designed to encourage visitors to linger.
The project anticipates the installation of between 13 and 30 retail spaces, depending on the needs of each brand. It will also include a food court, private parking and co-working spaces. One of the highlights is the incorporation of accessibility and inclusion criteria, with ramps, adapted entrances and tactile paving to facilitate the movement of people with reduced mobility or visual impairments.
Furthermore, the developer family announced that some of the spaces will be provided free of charge for farmers’ markets, exhibitions by local artists and activities for small producers from the province of Misiones.
