The Chapman Taylor-designed NOC shopping centre in the Bavarian city of Weiden has opened to the public. The opening ceremony took place on 26 September, with a kilometre-long red carpet rolled out to welcome the large crowd of visitors.
Located in the city centre, NOC (Nordoberpfalz Centre) delivers 18,000m² of retail and leisure space which hosts 55 shops – the offer being planned to complement the existing shopping landscape in the city. The beautiful design makes use of high-quality materials, with high ceilings and numerous spaces in which to dwell.
The new centre replaces a former department store and will serve a catchment area of 300,000 people, including customers from the western Czech Republic and from nearby US military bases, as well as the rural areas surrounding the city.
