Luxury travel accessories brand Rimowa has unveiled its first street-front store in central Japan’s Chubu region, the Rimowa Store in Sakae, Nagoya.
The LVMH-owned brand sells high-end suitcases, bags and accessories and this new store is situated among other luxury brands on Otsu-dori Street, combines Japanese architecture with the brand’s distinctive design motif.
The store spans 190sq m across two storeys and was designed to spotlight the theme of lightness, with natural light filtering in from its glass walls. The floor zone features two types of artificial marbles, which contrast with the bright interior atmosphere of the store. The second floor of the new Rimowa store features two repair counters for hot stamping and click repairs.
A partitioned customer service area provides a relaxed shopping experience, featuring furniture designed by Marcel Breuer, who studied furniture design at the Bauhaus in Germany.
