The French brand Salomon, world-renowned for its expertise in technical apparel and athletic footwear, has just opened its first store in the city of Córdoba, a strategic move that marks a new phase in its presence in the Argentine market.
The store, located on the ground floor of the Patio Olmos shopping centre, not only marks the brand’s official return to the Córdoba circuit following the closure of a previous franchise, but also represents a profound change in its business model: Salomon is abandoning the franchise model to operate directly in key locations throughout the region.
The store’s offering combines more than 120 models of technical footwear for mountain activities, hiking and trail running, along with a wide range of outdoor clothing and equipment for winter sports such as skiing. It also incorporates the urban Style line, a growing global category that fuses design, functionality and fashion, aimed at an audience that embraces a sporty aesthetic in everyday life.
A distinctive feature of the strategy accompanying this opening is its international pricing policy. Unlike other brands operating in the country, Salomon implemented a pricing structure aligned with US values, with differences that do not exceed 15 per cent.
The Córdoba store is directly managed by Winners Productos Deportivos SA, the company that manages Salomon’s operations in Argentina, Brazil and Peru. This decision responds to a regional strategy aimed at directly managing its own stores to guarantee a shopping experience aligned with international standards, without depending on intermediaries or franchisees.
Currently, the brand maintains a presence in approximately 600 multi-brand stores in Argentina, but with the opening of its own stores, it seeks to offer a space where customers can fully experience the Salomon experience.
