Siji Minfu Expands Abroad

Singapore-based restaurant group Jumbo has partnered with Chinese roast duck brand Siji Minfu to bring the latter’s signature Peking duck to the country, marking Siji Minfu’s first overseas location.

The new restaurant is expected to open at Resorts World Sentosa, in a space inspired by Beijing’s traditional courtyard architecture. It will offer traditionally roasted Peking duck and northern Chinese dishes.

Siji Minfu currently operates more than 20 outlets across China, including locations such as Wangfujing and Qianmen Street in Beijing.

Jumbo told The Business Times that the collaboration presents a timely opportunity to “build a strong partnership” and “capitalise on the growing global food and beverage sector in Singapore”.

The joint venture is part of Jumbo’s ongoing strategy to expand its brand portfolio and diversify its food and beverage operations. The company, known for its chilli crab at Jumbo Seafood, currently operates in several Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Beijing and Fuzhou.

The joint venture has an initial five-year term, with the option for automatic extension or renewal by mutual agreement. It will be structured with an issued share capital of US$1.5M, with Siji Minfu holding a 90 per cent stake and Jumbo the remaining 10 per cent.
