The popular Caribbean-inspired restaurant group, Turtle Bay, has announced the temporary closure of its Chelmsford restaurant, which will remain shut until the spring, as it undergoes an inspired transformation which will see the restaurant elevated entirely from its current standing.
The closure, effective immediately, marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in the restaurant’s journey. The full changes are yet to be disclosed, but guests can expect a spectacular reveal in March 2025, offering a twist on the group’s signature Caribbean offerings.
The enhanced concept will combine a warm and welcoming venue design as well as a new menu, featuring refined Caribbean-inspired dishes, all while still honouring the roots of being a joyful and carefree place to connect with people.
Since the brand’s launch in 2010, Turtle Bay has opened over 50 restaurants across the UK, with the Chelmsford site being one of their longest standing and much-loved locations.
Nick Crossley, CEO of Turtle Bay, said: “We have always prided ourselves on delivering a vibrant and approachable atmosphere and this new concept represents an exciting opportunity to offer something new to the city and beyond. We want to serve up the magic and warmth of the Caribbean, alongside a new level of service and culinary creativity, focusing on that carefree, island way of life that inspired the brand’s vision. Chelmsford remains one of our most popular and successful restaurants to date and we’re very aware of the love the locals have for the site, which is a key reason we chose this location for our new concept. We look forward to continuing to bring the spirit of the Caribbean to the city with a twist, for both new and existing fans of Turtle Bay.”
