White Stuff to source sustainable cotton

White Stuff has pledged to exclusively use sustainably sourced cotton by 2024 as part of its “Doing Good Stuff” sustainability project. The British fashion and lifestyle retailer plans to become a more sustainable brand by increasing its use of recycled materials, and will launch The Fairtrade Sourced Cotton range for autumn/winter 2019 that will be in line with its new sustainable strategy.

White Stuff has signed a three-year Fairtrade commitment to source cotton in an ethical way.

“We want to make a meaningful difference to the world and are working hard to improve the ways in which we produce our garments to reduce our environmental impact” White Stuff ethical sourcing and product sustainability manager Amanda Bunting said in a statement.

As part of the manufacturing process, each pair of jeans from the collection is made using 98 per cent recycled water, before being 85 per cent air-dried using the heat from the factory floor to further reduce energy consumption.
