The brand opened its doors on 16 July in the brand new Cotswolds Designer Outlet, introducing new summer dishes and space for over 150 diners.
With space for 110 guests inside and an additional 58 seats outside, the new restaurant opened alongside over 50 retail stores, creating an exciting new destination for the people of Tewkesbury and beyond.
Zizzi Cotswolds has been decorated with striking, original murals by artist Olga Intu, who drew inspiration from both local history and Zizzi’s Italian heritage, to create the perfect space for visitors to relax and enjoy a meal.
The mural incorporates the Monks of Tewkesbury Abbey, who produced flour from the watermill on the Avon River almost one thousand years ago. The story is symbolised with a windmill, complete with pizza paddle sails. Venus, the God of Love and Beauty, also stars in the mural, enjoying a glass of Chianti, as the pegasus from the Tuscan flag flies by.
The restaurant walls are also adorned with Tuscan-style plates, paying homage to the Roman crockery and Medieval finds which were discovered in the Cotswolds.
Zizzi Cotswolds’ General Manager, Molly Massingham, said: “We’re so excited to meet the people of the Cotswolds and visitors from further afield enjoying a shopping day. We’ve spent a long time perfecting the look and feel of the restaurant, with the help of the amazing artist, Olga, so we hope our guests love it as much as we do.”
