The move comes following a continued demand for home-delivery services due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Initially launching at 100 stores across Tokyo, the service hopes to rival other major names in the e-commerce business such as Amazon, by intending to deliver customers products within 30 minutes and offering late-night ordering.
The service is already being trialled at 39 locations and is partnering with Seino Group to handle the logistics. Once an order has been received, a member of the sales team will bag up the orders reading for a Seino driver to pick up and deliver to customers.
Should the trial be successful, the service will be rolled out across another 1000 locations from next year but is still said to be dependent on the brand’s ability to secure the necessary workforce.
