Alamo Drafthouse to Temporarily Close Locations

The cinema chain has announced it will temporarily close four of its six Dallas-Fort Worth locations.

Prior to reopening after a period of closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Alamo Drafthouse has implemented a number of safety measures to ensure customers feel safe in their facilities. These including sanitising chairs and tables with an electrostatic fogger and disinfectant between screenings; limited capacity at each screening: a face mask requirement for all staff and guests; and all online ordering of tickets and food.

However, given the decreased overall demand the company has taken the decision to close a number of locations to reduce costings.

“To better weather the COVID storm and the decreased overall demand due to a lack of major new releases, we’ve decided to consolidate our business in Dallas and temporarily close four of DFW-area franchise locations – Cedars, North Richland Hills, Denton and Las Colinas.” commented Bill DiGaetano, Chief Executive Officer at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema North Texas.
