Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel Closes

The hotel has become the latest casualty of the Coronavirus global pandemic.

Following a significant drop in tourism and business travel as a direct result of the Coronavirus and a number of lockdowns, the leisure and hospitality sector in California has seen the largest employment losses in August. Unfortunately, due to a full remodel that occurred at the luxurious hotel before the pandemic struck, the iconic hotel states that they “got caught up with the bad timing of the global travel market.”

The 86-room hotel has been a part of the California landscape for as many as 27 years and has shared a city block with a number of high-end outlets such as Cartier and Harry Winston. Efrem Harkham, Chief Executive of Luxe Hotels told the staff members: “Please accept my sincerest gratitude for your service and loyalty and know that this decision was not made lightly.”

The Luxe Rodeo Drive is the first high-end hotel in Los Angeles area to go out of business and the owners of the Luxe Hotels, the Harkham family are now considering alternative options for the property.
