The collection utilises recycled and leftover materials.
Founded in 2006, Monki has become recognised for their sustainability efforts in creating their on-trend collections. The brand pro-actively uses better materials in their products and intends to utilise only recycled or other sustainable sourced materials by 2030. In a world where consumers are more and more concerned with sustainability and in some cases actively avoid fast-fashion, Monki has grown to be a key player in the fight to become a more circular society.
The new Up:Cycle Collection, a name that doesn’t only mean reuse but repurpose in a new way, will feature three key pieces – a pair of Yoko jeans, a tie-waist jacket and a tote bag. All of these features a patchwork design that consists of a mix of organic denim washes.
Jenny Fagerlin, Global Sustainability Manager, Monki comments: “We love fashion and our planet, and we therefore need to transform ourselves and the industry to operate within the planetary business.”
