The project occupies an area of 4000sq m and cost 40 million dirhams to complete.
The east expansion project intends to raise the airport’s capacity to reach 20 million passengers by 2025. The new area includes food and beverage outlets that are open 24 hour a day and provide travellers with a wide selection of treats to enjoy before and during their travel time. The new duty free shop offers a selection of beauty products, perfumes and aftershaves and technology products.
Nine waiting areas are featured in the new east wing as well as quiet areas for those travellers looking for a place to relax. Children can be kept occupied in the interactive play area and a number of other facilities are included to provide the best possible experience.
The east expansion project opening follows a recent renovation of the first and business class lounge. Now called ‘The Lounge’, guests using this lounge will be treated to exceptional services that will enhance their overall experience.
