Hermés Sees Positive Signs in Third Quarter

The French luxury fashion house has reported that sales are up by 7 per cent in the third quarter.

Today Hermés reported that they are seeing positive signs after announcing their results for the third quarter. The news is particularly promising for the brand given that the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic resulted in their sales dramatically falling by 41.5 per cent in quarter two. The brand has recorded that turnover in the third quarter totalled €1.8bn.

The Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan) has significantly contributed to these positive results for the brand as they have experience strong activity in their stores across the market with sales jumping up by 30 per cent to €810M. The company also stated that they have seen a significant improvement in all other regions.

Hermés have not given any particular forecasts for the remainder of the year and the future given the economic uncertainity still faced by many and ever-changing consumer habits. They did however comment “the highly integrated craft model, the balanced sales network, the desirability of our collection and the loyalty of our customers gives us confidence in the future and support our business recovery.”
