The sustainable, contemporary supermarket chain has opened a store at Masdar City in Abu Dhabi.
The new store is one of the first supermarkets in the UAE that facilitates sustainable grocery shopping and is reflective of the community that the store has opened in as Masdar City is considered as one of the world’s must sustainable urban communities.
Olivier Latour, Chief Executive Officer at Grandiose Supermarkets, commented: “We are proud to open our second store in the capital, after the Al Reem Island, Horizon Tower Store which was highly appreciated by Al Reem community.”
The store features a number of aspects to enhance sustainability, including recycled trolleys and shopping bags, produce with reduced packaging and an option for customers to bring their own containers to be filled. The brand has also committed to minimising their carbon footprint by supporting local businesses and their products.
The Masdar branch offers a variety of healthy and wholesome, fresh foods and these can be purchased from store or delivered to their doorstep.
