Expected to open in the first quarter of 2024, indoor water park Oceana is the second part of Liseberg’s expansion project.
Last year, construction began on the first aspect of Liseberg’s expansion project – the Liseberg Grand Curiosa Hotel which houses 457 rooms with a slide between floors. The second part of this expansion project has now begun on the Oceana indoor water park. Occupying an indoor space of 13,600sq m and 4000sq m outdoors, the Oceana water park will feature a huge array of water attractions such as toddler pools, water riders, wave pools and a lazy river.
Thomas Sjöstrand, CPO of the Expansion Project at Liseberg commented: “In addition to a highly themed environment, the park offers a lot of new features – and not just for the Swedish market. These include the first six-person raft rides in Europe, and the highest mega-drop Master Blaster in the world.”
Construction is expected to take around three years and upon completion, Oceana will be one of the largest water parks in Northern Europe.
