Located on the first floor of the Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi, the new Ikea store occupies a space of 2100sq m.
Ikea already has a store on Yas Island, as well as two stores in Dubai – one located at Fesitval City and one at Festival Plaza mall, this is the company’s first store in the centre of the city. This is the smallest of the company’s stores across the UAE to date, with the Yas Island store coming in at 33,000sq m and the Festival Plaza store occupies a space of 35,000sq m, despite being smaller in size, the store will stock approximately 2000 low and medium-sized ready-to-assemble furniture and home essentials.
Vinod Jayan, Ikea’s UAE and Oman Managing Director has commented: “Al Wahda Mall remains a top destination for shopping, entertainment and leisure in the heart of Abu Dhabi, so we are thrilled to be able to bring our new Ikea concept store to this location.”
The company offers a digital access for customers looking for products that are not available in store. This digital access allows customers to place their orders in-store and have these delivered to their home
Jayan continues: “The full size Ikea store in Yas Island, which has operated on an area of 33,000sq m since 2011, will continue to be the go-to destination for the complete inspiring Ikea experience, so our goal is to create a closer glimpse of that experience at the heart of Abu Dhabi Island.”
