New Mixed-Use Project Breaks Ground

The Fenton mixed-use project by Hines and Columbia Development has finally broken ground after years of planning.

Located in North Carolina’s Research Triangle, the first phase of the 69-acre Fenton mixed-use project will deliver a huge 345,000sq ft of shops and restaurants: 17,974sq ft of this has already been leased to home furnishing retailer, Arhaus. The first phase will also consist of 200,000sq ft of office space, a 175-key hotel as well as a 357-unit apartment complex. This project is expected to be one of the largest retail-focused developments under construction in the United States this year.

Paul Zarian, Hine Director characterised the project as an urban, pedestrian-focused place to live, shop, dine and work in the Triangle. He comments: “Fully capitalising the project and securing commitments from retailers during a pandemic reflects significant confidence in the project.”

Jeff Hines, Chief Executive Officer at Hines added: “Fenton is a history making project for Hines and our partners.”
