If the project rises to the proposed height of 1646ft, it will become the tallest building by roof height in the city.
The mixed-use project is being redeveloped by RXR Realty and TF Cornerstore, and occupying a space of 3 million square foot, the Grand Hyatt is hailed as one of the major projects of the Midtown East rezoning initiative.
Upon completion, the Grand Hyatt will include 2.1 million square feet of office space, a new 500-room hotel, around 10,000sq ft of open-air publicly accessible space, and 43,370sq ft of retail.
The costs for the project are expected to be anywhere in the range of $2.5bn – $3bn.
