Apple to Open Second South Korea Store

The company has announced that the new store will be located in Yeoudio, in the West of Seoul however there is no set opening date as of yet.

The US tech giant currently operates just one store in South Korea despite their products being popular in the market. Apple opened the doors to their Garosugil store in 2018, where customers can get direct support and make purchases of Apple products.

Despite the company’s popularity, market research from Strategy Analytics shows that Samsung Electronics holds a 72.3 per cent market share of the local smartphone market whilst Apple holds just 8.9 per cent of this market.

The opening of this second store is a move towards strengthening their presence in the market where Apple’s new iPhone 12 has sold around 600,000 units since its launch. The company has commented that their second Apple Store is designed as a pace for everyone to blossom their ideas and creativity.
