This is the Swiss chocolate brands third location in the US, following stores at Lexington Avenue and in American Dream.
Using only the freshest ingredients, selected with care, Läderach pride themselves on producing the freshest and finest chocolates exclusively made in Switzerland, with many products still made by hand.
Located on New York’s Fifth Avenue, the store occupies an area of 2500sq ft and boasts a rotating cocoa-bean sculpture made with real chocolate. The store will host live chocolate classes and exclusive product demonstrations. In a time where many retailers are shutting shop rather than opening and expanding, Chief Executive Officer Johannes Läderach remains optimistic, stating:
“We really see a demand for physical chocolate experiences. The experience has to do with all the senses… Premium chocolate purchase is so impulse driven. People still want the physical stores. It’s very important.”
The brand plans to open around 35 stores in the US with the first of these located in Washington D.C.
