B&M Reports Positive Third Quarter

The group has recorded a 22.5 per cent increase in their revenue for the 13 weeks finishing December 26, 2020.

A strong performance in the third quarter saw B&M stores increased their revenue and like-for-like sales by 26.6 per cent and 21.1 per cent respectively. The company has also commented that their Heron Foods business performed ‘solidly’ over the period.

As a result of the third quarter performance, the company will be awarding 30,000 store and distribution staff an extra week’s wages in recognition of their hard work and efforts on the front line during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Simon Arora, Chief Executive at B&M, commented: “Our trading performance is testament to the hard work and commitment of all our colleagues, to whom I express my sincere thanks. Notwithstanding our status as an essential retailer, with lockdown restrictions in the UK having tightened there remain uncertainties ahead.”
