The centre, which will specialise in customer consulting, is located in the Xiuying District of the provincial capital, Haikou.
As well as specialising in customer consultation, the new Tesla centre will also specialise in supply chain management and after-sales services. Tesla has also announced their intentions to open a second centre, to be located in Sanya in the South of the Island in the first half of the year and their plans to build charging stations in all major localities in the region.
The opening of the centre began last September when Tesla registered and established its representative office in Haikou and continued when the company signed an agreement with Hainan Internet Industry Innovation Park Fuxingcheng to build an exhibition pavilion and a test centre in the Hainan province,
The news is most welcomed by the province as by the year 2030, the Hainan authorities intend to stop selling cars with conventional gas and diesel engines.
