Queensberry has announced that the Milestone Group operating under its brand ‘General Post Office’ will open to the public in late Spring, creating 132 jobs.
Set to be located on the Victoria Street entrance at Metquarter adjoining Everyman, the General Post Office (GPO) pays tribute to the former use of the building as Liverpool’s head post office location. The concept will provide visitors with a wide variety of cuisines all housed under one roof.
The opening of GPO will complete the remixing of Metquarter and will complement the varied offer bringing new life and activity to the remainder of the building and surrounding area. This will bring Metquarter back to a significantly let position in a market place that has been greatly challenged. The repositioning of the building is now being seen as a shining example of how to repurpose retail property.
