IntercityHotel Leiden Set to Open

The new IntercityHotel will offer 115 guest rooms and is set to open in the Dutch city of Leiden in 2023.

The IntercityHotel Leiden will occupy a central site within walking distance of the old area of the city and will also be situated at the very heart of a new quarter being created around Leiden Central Station. The hotel will provide 115 rooms, a restaurant, a BistroLounge and a lobby. The hotel will form part of a new build development called Octagon and will be operated via a lease agreement agreed between STAG Hotels Netherlands B.V. and the project developer Synchroon B.V.

“I am delighted that we are continuing to drive forward our successful international growth by launching a new IntercityHotel in Leiden,” said Marcus Bernhardt, CEO, Deutsche Hospitality.

“Leiden draws a colourful mix of visitors thanks to its historic old quarter and its proximity to important economic locations. It is also home to the oldest university in the Netherlands, and the tulip was introduced to western Europe for the first time at the city’s Botanical Gardens. The concept for the new IntercityHotel fits in perfectly with this environment. It combines high-end design with a range of impressive and innovative services which are unique in the upper mid-scale sector.”
