The second-hand fashion platform owned by H&M Group is now available in the Netherlands and Austria following a successful launch in Germany last summer.
Sellpy is currently the largest online shop and sales service for second-hand items in Sweden. H&M Group has been investing in Sellpy since 2015 through its investment arm H&M CO:LAB and became its majority owner in 2019.
In June 2020 Sellpy launched into the German market, and the expansion into new markets supports H&M’s goal to make the best possible use of limited resources and to keep garments in circulation for as long as possible as well as their overall vision to become fully circular.
Michael Arnör, Sellpy Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We see a steady growth in demand for sustainable consumption, where second-hand is a great option. Every garment bought pre-owned saves resources for our planet. It’s therefore very exciting that we continue to grow and empower more customers in Europe to live circular.”
