The fast-casual seafood restaurant chain is also looking to develop Express restaurants in densely populated metropolitan areas.
The restaurant chain will open 15 restaurants in 2021, including locations in Florida, Texas and Utah. The brand has also signed five franchise development agreements to bring 17 new restaurants to key markets such as the Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta during the next several years.
Alongside this, the brand is launching a new prototype concept called Express that has a significantly smaller footprint of around 900sq ft. The first Express restaurant will open in the second quarter of 2021 in Atlanta. The format will include a drive-thru and walk up windows for ordering and picking up.
The brand plans to open two to four locations per year for the next three years. Last year, despite the global pandemic, Captain D’s opened 10 restaurants across the Southeast and Midwest.
