7-Eleven Expands in New South Wales

The convenience retail chain has opened five new store locations, with the latest outlet opening at Metford, Hunter.

The very first 7-Eleven store in New South Wales was opened in 1981, four years after the brand arrived in Australia. Now, 7-Eleven is locally owned and operated and has more than 700 stores across Victoria, NSW, ACT, Queensland and Western Australia with a mix of company-owned and franchised locations.

Daniel Halaska, Acting NSW State Manager, commented: “Over the past five years we’ve continually grown our network, and that growth has been particularly strong in regional centres like Maitland. We opened our first store in the Maitland area in 2016, and this is the fourth in this growing region of New South Wales.”

Alongside the benefits to 7-Eleven, the new stores have provided massive job opportunities within the local community. In New South Wales alone, more than 2,800 people make up the employment team with store leaders, corporate and franchise store team members, franchisees and support functions all available for those looking for a job.
