Dilmunia Canal Set to Open

Bahrain’s newest tourist attraction includes waterfalls and two dancing fountains which are similar to the one at Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.

The Dilmunia Canal is expected to be one of Bahrain’s most popular destinations, with the 1.7km canal stretching from the Dilmunia Marina in the North to Dilmunia Garden in the South. The development is being managed by Ithmaar Development Company (IDC) who also manage the Dilmunia mega project.

The heart of the attraction is the seawater-operated fountains which will create the shows. These will be partnered with a backdrop of more than 1,200 colour-changing LED lights to ensure visitors are dazzled with each visit. Two musical fountains which will be spread over 100 metres will synchronise with the music and pump water through the water jets.

Mohammed Khalil Alsayed, IDC Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We look forward to welcoming visitors and residents to Dilmunia Canal phase 1 to enjoy the fresh air and picturesque scenery, including the dazzling light and sound spectacle offering by the Dilmunia Fountain. This latest development is expected to become a key attraction for families throughout the year.”
