Riyadh Art has announced that its inaugural event, Noor Riyadh, will start from March 18.
This year’s theme for the event is ‘Under One Sky’ and Noor Riyadh explores the universal human impulse to gather around light, humans instinctively gather around the flames of a campfire or gaze at the stars. Riyadh Art comments that this idea of togetherness is particularly resonant in light of the global pandemic, with many people separated from their loved ones.
Noor Riyadh will include over 60 artworks, including large scale public installations across Riyadh, a landmark exhibition called Light Upon Light: Light Art since the 1960s, and a diverse programme of exciting and immersive activities that includes tours, talks, workshops, family activities and films and music.
Renowned international artists including Daniel Burn and Yayoi Kusama and local emerging artists such as Ahmed Mater, Lulwah Homoud and Ayman Zedani are all featured within the Noor Riyadh event.
