Popeyes Looks to Expand in Mexico

The chain restaurant has entered into an agreement with JK Capital to open hundreds of new restaurants in Mexico over the coming years.

The first of the restaurants is set to open in Mexico City later this year. Currently, the brand operates more than 3,400 stores around the globe with one location in Mexico, in the city of Guadalajara.

Sami Siddiqui, President of Popeyes, Americas, commented: “This is a historic moment for the Popeyes brands. Our successful international expansions into Spain, Switzerland, China, Brazil, and the Philippines over the past few years reinforced the global appeal of Popeyes and we are confident that our guests in Mexico will similarly love that chicken from Popeyes.”

Popeyes is part of the Restaurant Brands International portfolio. The company also owns Tim Hortons and Burger King, operating more than 27,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries and US territories.
