The relief package has been extended for Airport Authority Hong Kong’s (AA) commercial and airline tenants until May 2021.
The prolonged impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic have been a significant contributing factor in the decision. The Authority first introduced the rent relief in February 2020 and has continually monitored the impacts of the global pandemic, keeping their relief package in line with the changing environment.
The rental relief for retail and catering tenants will also continue. Most of the shops and restaurants in the terminal have suspended business and their rental is waived. For those that remain open to provide essential services, the base rent is waived.
Rental reduction also covers those terminal tenants covering lounges and offers, while fees have been waived for terminal licensees including ancillary passenger services, commercial services and cross-border transport operators.
