The retail group is planning to invest $32M to renovate parts of its existing retail network, focusing particularly on its Central and Robinsons stores.
The retail group is planning to renovate seven of its existing Central Department Store locations in Thailand. Five of these stores are located in Bangkok – Chidlom, Lat Phrao, Rama II, Rama III and Megabangna – while the others are in Pattaya and Udon Thani.
Plans have also been announced to renovate existing Robinson department stores in Rangsit, Ubon Ratchathani, Srisaman, Khon Kaen, Chachoengsao and Sri Racha, and all of these are expected to be completed by the end of the year. The company also added that it plans to open a 34,000sq m Robinson Lifestyle Banchang, located next to Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate.
Rvisra Chirathivat, Central Customer Director, commented: “January and February were a tough time for retail business. But now shopping sentiment is better, as indicated by improved returns on investment for the campaigns we launched. Traffic in each store increased, particularly for sales of young fashion items and accessories, as well as jeans.”
