The new experiential store is located at Eastview Mall in the Rochester suburb of Victor in New York.
The new 100,000sq ft store has been described as a place to ‘connect and play’ and offers guests a hands-on shopping experience featuring a rock-climbing wall, a high-tech batting cage, and a 17,000sq ft outdoor turf field and running track where Dick’s will hold a number of sports events. The track and field will be open all year round for customers to use and will feature an ice-skating rink in the winter.
Alongside this, the new store will feature golf-hitting-bays, a putting green, the ‘House of Cleats’, which will seasonally rotate product and a health and wellness space to help customers to recover from injuries and a dedicated service area for services including breaking in gloves, stringing lacross sticks and repairing bikes.
The new store will boast a wide selection of athletic and outdoor apparel brands offering footwear and the latest gear for sports teams and top-of-the-line equipment for golf and other fitness activities.
Speaking on the launch of the store, Lauren Hobart, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “It will serve as a test and learning centre and we will roll the most successful elements into our core Dick’s stores.”
