The American sports footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories is the world’s most valuable apparel brand for the seventh consecutive year.

According to data from the Brand Finance Apparel 50 2021 report, the total value of the world’s top 50 most valuable apparel companies declined by 8 per cent as a result of a very trying year for the retail landscape.

Despite the obvious challenges that 2020 presented for brands, Nike has maintained a considerable lead over Gucci, the second-ranked brand. Nike’s sales were impacted by local lockdowns with the majority of its stores across North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific, three key markets for the brand. However, on the flip side, the brand saw an impressive uptick in online sales which almost double in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

One reason that Nike has consistently held the top spot for the past seven years is it’s continuous innovation within its product lines.
