Walmart is partnering with casual restaurant chain, La Madeleine, known for its ‘French comfort food.’
Walmart is set to trial ten La Madeleine French Bakery & Café in-store locations across Walmart stores through Dallas-Fort Worth. The first of these is expected to open in July in Garland with the other nine locations opening shortly after.
The La Madeleine in-store concepts will boast a footprint of between 980sq ft to 2,209sq ft and the menu will offer a selection of grab-and-go options as well as dine-in offerings. A number of items, such as pizza, have been specially created for its Walmart locations. Alongside their food offering, each of the in-store concepts will house a retail area where customers can purchase soups, jams, sauces and more.
“We’re very excited about Walmart’s curated food service experience for customers. We look forward to making it even more convenient for the DFW community to enjoy the La Madeleine experience, while also introducing our French comfort food to Walmart shoppers that are looking for more diverse dining choices,” commented La Madeleine Chief Executive Officer, Lionel Ladouceur.
