A new retail development in Crewe that will include a Lidl, B&M and a Costa Coffee drive-thru is scheduled to be completed this week – with the site expected to open in the summer.
Work has been taking place at the site since last year and was planned to have been finished by February, but this was pushed back due to the pandemic.
Now Clowes Developments has revealed that construction of the retail park is scheduled to be completed on Monday (April 26).
A spokesperson said the retailers will then have a three to 12-week “fit out” period before the park fully opens from August.
They added: “As we all know too well, Covid had an impact on everything. Lots of our specialist suppliers and contractors had at least some of their workforces on furlough during the lockdowns, which naturally has an affect along the supply chain.”
A spokesperson for Lidl confirmed that they were due to start fitting out the store “with a view to opening this summer”.
As well as the new retail units, the development also includes the building of up to 72 affordable homes and a 272-space car park.
