The White Company Reports Strong Financial Results

The group have reported a Group Operating Profit of £14.1M, a 4 per cent increase on the previous year.

In a financial year where the final five months were severely impacted, The White Company group turnover was £226.3M, up 4 per cent on the previous year on a comparable 52-week basis. Prior to the pandemic, the retailer experienced similar levels of growth across both bricks-and-mortar and digital channels, however during the pandemic and as a result of the subsequent store closures, the brand transformed their digital channel, mitigating a large portion of the lost trade from the stores.

Despite the lasting impacts of the pandemic, The White Company opened two new stores and two new concessions in the UK, bringing the total number of UK stores to 61, including 11 concessions. The brand were able to continue trading through their two stores in Ireland and one US store.

Mary Homer, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “The year has, without doubt, been extremely challenging, with a global pandemic that created many business situations that none of us have ever experienced before. In light of this, I am very pleased with our results, both from a turnover and profit perspective.”
