Sam’s Club Launches First Huizhou Store

The US-based retailer has launched its first store in Huizhou, Guangdong province and its 32nd store in China.

Sam’s Club is an American chain of membership-only retail warehouse clubs, owned and operated by Walmart Inc. The new store offers sampling activities, free eye and hearing tests, and wine tasting.

The newly-launched store houses around 4,000 SKUs (Stock-Keeping Units) from different parts of the world, each of which were specifically selected to suit Chinese consumers’ preferences and tastes. Sam’s ‘single product driven model’ is implemented at the new store and this was based on the concept that each product is set to significantly contribute of the whole category sales.

Members of the Huizhou store can also place orders via the Sam App and avail a one-hour delivery service.

Sam’s Club usually opens between four to five new stores each year in China. The brand is also further embedding the omni-channel strategy and rolling out its express home delivery services.
