Homegrown Convenience Store Launches First Drive-Thru Service

The UAE-based convenience store concept Zoom has launched the drive-thru pilot scheme with plans in place to introduce the concept to further stations in the coming months.

The very first drive-thru service is located at ENOC’s service station at Al Aweer, Dubai. Should this pilot prove successful, the brand intends to roll out the drive-thru concept to a number of further stations across the UAE in the coming months.

Launched in 2009, Zoom boasts an impressive portfolio of more than 228 outlets in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Furairah and Umm Al Quwain. The Covid-19 pandemic has acted as a catalyst for this next step in their development, and the launch of their first drive-thru service. This service will enable customers to shop from Zoom at ENOC service stations and safely collect their orders from their cars. Once their order is placed, customers have the choice to drive up to the window to pick up their order or wait in one of the designated parking spaces where a Zoom member of staff will deliver their order to them.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group Chief Executive Officer, ENOC Group, commented: “The Covid-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the retail sector and we believe it is imperative to innovated our services to adapt to this changing landscape, add to the overall customer experience and maintain the safety and wellbeing of our customers and employees.”
