Amazon Australia is launching Amazon Warehouse – the online giant’s store concept for pre-owned and open-box items across a range of products.
Returned items available at Amazon Warehouse will be checked over by Amazon staff and will be discounted in price. The items can also be eligible for free deliver for Amazon Prime members. Over 30 categories are available on Amazon Warehouse, including smartphones, laptops, books, apparel, toys and others.
All items will be graded on a spectrum and will be branded as either: ‘Like New’, ‘Very Good’, ‘Good’ or ‘Acceptable’. The grading well then be used to determine the discounting.
Amazon Australia Country Manager, Matt Furlong, commented: “Items are returned to Amazon for many reasons – sometimes a product is just not what a customer is looking for, or perhaps there’s a cosmetic defect or the packaging is damaged.These items can’t then be sold as new, but are still great quality and are in good working condition. Amazon Warehouse gives these products a new lease on life and offers customers an even wider selection to choose from.”
