The new attraction, called Jump promises to bring the feel, smell and exhilaration of cliff jumping without the associated danger.
Mega mall American Dream, which is located in East Rutherford, has entertainment at its core. The mall houses a Nickelodeon Universe, Dream Works Water Park, Big Snow, Legoland Discovery Centre, The Rink and Sealife, among others.
Their latest offering, Jump is a hyper-reality offering where by guests put on a wing suit and virtual reality helmet to see and feel what it would be like to jump off cliffs and skyscrapers at the 5,000sq ft Jump hangar. The hangar utilises suspension and wind systems to simulate the experience.
The new experience was founded by James Jensen, who also co-created The Void, the virtual reality company behind the Ghostbusters Experience and other former attractions at Disney theme parks that were shut down in 2020. He goes on to say: “Hyper-reality means we’re creating an experience that includes several sensory elements, including the feeling of wine and heat, smell (like the scent of pine trees), and the very real physical sensation of jumping and ultimately flying.”
The American Dream location will open before the end of the year, and a second Jump location will follow in Utah, the brand’s home state.
