Dr. Martens Takes a Step Forward in Spain

The British footwear firm owned by the Permira fund will open its first single-brand store in Barcelona as well as opening offices and a showroom in the Catalan capital.

After the summer, the brand will raise the blinds of its first own establishment in Spain, a 170sq m store on Barcelona’s Cucurulla Street, at the confluence between Portal de l’Àngel and Portaferrissa.

In parallel, the firm will install its offices for the Spanish market and its showroom in a space in Barceloneta, located at 51 Pontevedra Street. The leasing of both spaces has been piloted by the real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield, which has advised other companies such as Urban Outfitters in similar operations.

In Spain, the brand is distributed through multi-brand and online channels: it operates with its own e-commerce, but is also present in marketplaces such as Zalando.
